These are truly the centerpiece of our Illusions of Grandeur event!
I found the original plaster maquettes for these beautifully sculpted angelic Santos heads from an antique dealer in Paris. They were probably used as church sculptures. He shipped them over to me and we made molds, and cast them in plaster. We then hand painted them and dipped them in tinted beeswax, which gives them a soft patina. Each one seems to glow with a soft light. I mounted them on bases, and adorned them with antique tinsel and antique french wax wedding garlands, and pale, bleached natural fern leaves. Each one is unique and has a different base. They come with a glass dome (packed carefully)..
